We are not superior to anyone

I have been reminded today that all of us have a tendency to look at each other and say well at least I would never do that!  And I am sure that is true.  But what we forget in our superiority of mind in choosing our “I would never do”s  is that though our choice of poison may not seem as bad as someone else, poison is poison and it takes you down the same road.  That road is called Death.
Now that road made not lead to a physical death, but it can lead to a blockage or a hindrance that keeps us from being completely in touch with our God. Sin is sin and as Roman’s 3:10 states “There are none righteous no not even one.”  I can say oh but I would never do that however, since I am a sinner I have sinned and I will do it again.  (One of those little things you would rather not but can always count on happening.)  I’m not saying we shouldn’t hold each other accountable or that we shouldn’t bring to light the sins of others.  There are times for that is necessary.  It’s biblical to call other’s attention to their sins. However, we need to remember that we are sinners also.   A proud spirit will sooner or later be brought to light when after time and time of God showing “it” to us, we refuse to bring it to light and give it up and over and o God.  Think of the movie stars and other public figures that have been “caught” and even died in their sin.  If we don’t fall to our knees on our own, God will surely bring us to our knees in the end.  Some of us, He loves us enough to show us early (much to our chagrin and sometimes humiliation) so that we can “fix” the problem, others don’t get that opportunity and are brought to our physical end.
Think of your darkest thought, the ones you want no one to see. If you aren’t seeking God’s guidance to how to be delivered from them, then God just might decide to help you “out.”  Question…How badly is your secret going to be if it comes out while you are doing everything in the world to keep it quiet.  Nothing is hidden forever and no sin is good no matter what “it” may teach you.

You can either find joy in the things that God has given you or drown in the sadness of not getting what you want.

Pride

Why is where were going more important than the person next to us on the road? Why is our business more important then theirs? Why are we in such a hurry to get where we are going that we forget that our time on the way is just as important maybe even more so. There are people all around us, desperate for Good news, scared, lost, or just plain in need of a friend and we zoom past them like they don't exist. Every, absolutely everything including the death of an innocent man on a cross so long ago has worked together so you can be exactly where you are at this minutes. So I'm wondering what are you doing about it? What are you thinking right now? Are you thought about what God wants you to be doing or are you wrapped up what you "need" to do or what you are doing at the moment. Take a second and just stop and pray and ask God so what now?? He is listening and He will be so glad to tell and show you. All you need is a open heart and head.

Thanking God

If you finished it thank God
If you got an idea that worked thank God
If you remembered thank God
If you were given it thank God (and thank whomever gave it to you if you know)
If lucked into it (it wasn't luck) thank God
If you were able to save for it thank God
Nothing absolutely nothing comes to us except from the grace of God. So make sure no matter what is, before your pride sneaks in to try and take credit remember it never would have been if not for God.
