"Oxymoronism"

The Oxymoronism of life usually have me chuckling. But who can laugh at someone faking abuse and being a member in an abuse support group. May God bless and keep and help the victims that this person has contact with.

Two paths

by Mary McIntier on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 4:59pm
So much goes through my brain in a day there is no way to type it out. Some I guess are just for me as I work them through and forget about them for a while. But this one has stuck with me today.

Two paths run parallel.
Never will they meet
You cannot go in reverse
they are one way streets
One path leads to God's glory
The other to his wrath
And between them come
intersecting paths
These are the places where we make
decisions in our lives
And we can take one and get off track
But then God puts down another one
so we can get back
on his Holy road
We switch back forth from one to others
all through out our lives
I'm thankful though because
since He open wide my eyes
I know that when my time is done
That I will end up on the path of His risen Son.

Genesis 2: 2-3

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

And so creation is completed. The biospere we know as earth is set up to sustain life. The Lord is set for to be the light of the word. All life is created and roaming the heavens and the earth. God rested. Not because He needed to but as an example to us.  Our bodies and souls need rest.  And not just rest but a time to celebrate what He had created, through us, in us, for us.  I time to let Him know we know who He is. I time to reflect and realize that all things are His and through Him we have complete access to those things.  God is also preparing for what is to come.  For this is the last of peace on the earth for some time.  Soon very soon mankind was going to turn God's amazing creation on its ear.

Make sure to take time to rest and reflect before going out into the world "to tackle" it.  Prayer is our most amazing, powerful and underrated weapon.  We must remember to keep it at the ready.  We do not have to bow our heads and fold our hands together to be in prayer. We do need to show respect and be humbled by who we are talking to.  Amazingly we use prayer as our last option. It takes practice to make it foremost in our lives.  If we can train our minds, body and soul to the importance of prayer our lives would change exponentially.

Exodus 20:8-11

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

Exodus 20:8-11

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who [a]stays with you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

Exodus 31: 17

17 It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”

 Hebrews 4:4

For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;

Hebrews 4:10

10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.
So my biggest problem isn't the fact that I get interrupted and miss days, weeks month, though it is annoying, no my biggest problem is that I get frustrated when I can't get to something, like this blog, and I let it get to me. I let Satan sneak in and attack.

So here's the deal.  I am always trying to get through the bible and I always get sidelined.  And then I feel like I need to start from the beginning.  But that really isn't true. God isn't about time but about truth and loving His word.  So, I will still be doing the walk through the bible and I will do it when I can. I will try and be consistent but life happens between these posting and I will ask for you patience as I traverse through not only the scripture but through life as well. Blessing to all. Mary

Genesis 1:26-31

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so. 31 God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Who: God and Man
What: Creation
When: In the beginning on the sixth day
Where: Everywhere however man was put in the garden
Why: Because He's God
How: Omnipotence does what omnipotence does. (okay that was tongue and cheek)

So God made man in His image (notice the use of our), in His likeness. So who is God. God is love.  Can you image a word full of people that love with everything they are. Funny how sin, how having a choice took that from us, fractured it, sometimes making it unrecognizable in us. Yet it is still there, but it's our choice to use it or not. We all have within us the ability to show and accept love.

Notice also that we may rule over the fish, birds, livestock and wild animals, and don't you just love this.  We get to rule over the bugs. Or we would have except for one thing freedom of choice. And we chose badly.

The God blessed us or all of us that were there at the time. So Adam and Eve. He gave us our first command,“Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Then God told us. “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”

I actually never noticed this until I took Precept studies that before the great flood everything on the earth was a vegetarian.  I will get into this more after the part of the flood.  I believe that the flooding might have hurt the nutritional value of plants, well that and the sin brought about flesh eating.  But that is when God put enmity between us and all the animals of the world and we had fear and killing added to our lives.

And the last thing did was to pronounce it not just good but very good. And then it ended the day that is. Although the good would not last long either.
